So it was a goal of mine to celebrate my birthday dressed like the year of the age I was turning at least once in my 20's. So when I turned 24, I got some friends together and dressed up like it was 1924!
Who doesn't like to play dress up? We had a blast!
It just so happens to be my birthday month, so I thought I would share some fun throwback photos from the night.
I bought my dress off of Amazon but then I added the gloves and necklaces. The headband was something I found that I thought I could turn into a kind of crown headband.
Abbey has a knack for finding things at Goodwill and putting them together. Her entire outfit came from there! I'm always really impressed with how she finds the cutest things there.
My friend Carly made her outfit themed with just a few subtle moves. Her hair style definitely makes the period and her outfit as a whole was something right out of her closet! With the right necklace and hair accessory, she looked perfect!
My friend Sarah found this dress at a Plato's Closet in Chattanooga. Add a bow and some heels and you have a themed outfit! Sarah is also just the most adorable person you'll meet, so her personality in those clothes helped her 'it' factor shine.
And Valerie chose a more modern dress but made it period themed by adding a hair accessory. I love how popular fashion has a way of looking back to what was popular then. Because of the sheer top, it reminds me of something you would see on Downton Abbey. As they say, all the old styles eventually come back! I just love that.
We went to eat at the Big River Grille and Brewing and then went for a carriage ride in downtown Chattanooga. It was simple but fun to have everyone dress up and do a mini photo-shoot!
My friends loved getting dolled up and we had a lot of fun with it.
So if you're looking to celebrate a birthday and want to do something different, this is a small way you can make it interesting.
