Happy Valentine's Day!

I've always loved Valentine's day. I know the norm, especially when you are single, is to completely disregard the whole day, but what I have found over time is that it is better to embrace the day and just celebrate the people in your life. 

It may not be worth much, but if I could just encourage someone today that is feeling annoyed or awkward, or whatever you may be feeling because you feel like you are not living up to the world's standard for this day, celebrate the love in your life whatever that may mean! Celebrate your friends and loved ones, and people that surround you. 

Make today an opportunity.

Smile at a stranger. Make a new friend. Pay it forward. Maybe you think today is just Hallmark's way of making a buck, but it is possible to enjoy Valentine's day and share love with people even without a significant other. You just have to embrace it! 

And if you're like me, you can also embrace it by making chocolate covered strawberries (V-day Tradition) and curling up on the couch with your favorite Chick flick. As one of my favorite people would say "you do you".
